Seyi Edun (born on 4 June) is a Nollywood actress and producer famous for Yoruba films such as Alejo (2022), Dara (2015), Case Closed (2017), and Oso Aje (2022). She is also a brand influencer, business owner, philanthropist, and the wife of Adeniyi Johnson – ex-husband to Toyin Abraham.

How old is Seyi Edun?

Seyi Edun has not revealed her exact age but celebrates her birthday on June 4 every year. The producer is a native of Ayetoro Egbado, Ogun State but was born and grew up in Lagos State.

She has not revealed the identity of her parents but it is presumed that she was raised in a supportive family. As such, they supported her career in acting despite their wish for her to study law.

In the same manner, not much is known about her siblings. Nonetheless, she made a comment about her sister being Nollywood scriptwriter Omobolanle Edun. She also has an Elder brother, Jaiyeola Edun.

As regards her educational journey, the actress began school at a very young age in Lagos State at Tunyo Nursery and Primary school. Furthermore, she obtained her O’level certificate from Anglican Girls Grammar School both in Lagos state. Seyi Edun, later on, graduated from Olabisi Onabanjo University with a Bachelor’s degree.

Her walk of fame began in the industry around 2009 with minor roles. However, it was in 2011 that she for her breakthrough when she featured and produced Eja Nla – a movie inspired by the Nigerian musician, D’banj. She is the Founder of Shai World Initiative Foundation

Seyi Edun owns a foundation called the Shaiworld Initiative. This is a foundation that helps to cater to and feed the underprivileged. They have made it a priority to educationally fund people, especially children that otherwise may not afford school fees.

In recent times, they have been able to sponsor at least four people into different levels of education.

Seyi Edun Also Has a Clothing Line

Until recently, Seyi Edun had been running an online and out-of-store clothing shop before her acting career. She birthed the clothing and lingerie store called Shaiworld Luxury in Lagos.

The store deals in both male and female clothing as well as pajamas, ready-to-wear Aso Ebi, and other meaningful accessories to dazzle customers. Consequently, a sub-store called Tiwa ‘N’ Tiwa by Shai was created to handle all Adire wears and creations.

Nollywood actor Adeniyi Johnson (Born: 27 February 1978; Age: 44) is Seyi Edun’s husband. He is known for films such as Gold Statue (2019), Voiceless Scream (2019), Something Strange (2018), Just Not Married (2016), Tales of Eve: Thanks for coming (2015), Tinsel, Alakada (2013).

Johnson is indigenous to the Ondo State area of Nigeria but grew up in Lagos state. The actor is a mass communication graduate from the Polytechnic of Ibadan. He also has a bachelor’s degree in History and International Relations from Lagos State University.

As regards their life as a couple, Adeniyi and Seyi’s exact date of marriage remains uncertain but in 2018, it was revealed that they were secretly married.

As much as it is known, the couple does not have any children but in January 2022, Seyi shared a picture of herself and Adeniyi with a little boy whose name is given as Semilore. Despite this and the tag of “baby” that the actress put on the boy, there is no in-depth knowledge of who he is.

Looking closer into the private life of Seyi’s husband, Adeniyi Johnson, he was previously married to Toyin Aimakhu now Toyin Abraham.  The former couple was married in July 2013 at the Ikoyi Registry, Lagos.
