Scarlett Johansson is sharing the story behind her son’s one of a kind name.

During an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson show Monday, the Black Widow actress shared how son Cosmo, 13 months — whom she shares with husband Colin Jost — got his one of a kind name.

Joking about his moniker, Johansson initially said they “just tossed a lot of letters together.”

Laughing, she then explained, “It just appeared to be a refreshing — it’s so charming. Our companions all loved it.”

She admitted the name required a significant stretch of time to develop on Jost’s mother. “She continued to propose other versions of it and I’m like, ‘No, he’s already here, he’s out.’ ”

Johansson also noticed that the name was a hit with her daughter, Rose Dorothy, 8.

“I love that they’re the two blossoms,” Clarkson remarked.

“They are the two blossoms,” Johansson said. “Not a many individuals make that connection

. Cosmo is a really sweet little bloom that comes in various shades of orange and yellow.”

“That’s the reason my daughter enjoyed it as well,” she said of the connection between the names.

Johansson and Jost marry in an intimate ceremony back in October 2020. The pair got engaged in May 2019 after two years of dating.

The Sing 2 actress appeared her 11-carat engagement ring that July while taking the stage at San Diego Comic-Con.

Johansson has recently been open about parenting her most memorable kid. In April 2021 she chatted with Individuals about how she encourages Rose to eat healthy meals.

“It’s amusing, however I think I never really had to fool her into eating healthy,” said Johansson.

“I think [it’s best] simply letting kids discover food that way without making it seem like a task. Everyone has an alternate palate,” she continued.

“I’ve never attempted to force my child to eat anything she could have done without, and I never attempted to conceal any food varieties from her because I was trying to pack in an extra carrot.

Simply offer a variety as much as conceivable.”
