Paul Mirkovich (born on March 20, 1963) is a Los Angeles native, and has been the band leader, keyboardist and duet singing partner for Cher for the last 16 years. He has also been the band director for Janet Jackson and Anastasia and a member of the multi-platinum bands Whitesnake and Nelson. Mirkovich played a role in Brett Garsed and T. J. Helmerich's albums Quid pro quo (1992) and Exempt (1993). Paul has also performed and recorded with Peter Gabriel and Shawn Colvin, among many others. Paul and the House Band toured the United States with Paul Stanley (from KISS) in October/November 2006 as well as Australia in April 2007. Mirkovich currently serves as musical director of NBC's talent competition,The Voice, which is produced by Mark Burnett. Burnett was executive producer of Rock Star, on which Mirkovich also served as musical director.

1	Keyboardist for the music group Nelson on the albums "After the Rain" (1990), "Because They Can" (1995) and "Imaginator" (1996). "After the Rain" reached #17 on the Billboard album chart and features the hit singles "Can't Live Without Your) Love and Affection" (#1 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart), "After the Rain" (#5), "More Than Ever" (#13) and "Only time Will Tell." Neither latter two albums made the album chart or produced a hit single.
2	"Imaginator", which has a sound similar to "After the Rain," was actually recorded before "Because They Can" but Geffen Records refused to release it. The company forced the band to record an entirely new album that fit in more with the grunge/alternative invasion that took place shortly after the success of "After the Rain." "Imaginator" was released in 1996 by Nelson's then newly formed Stone Canyon Records.

The departures left twin brothers Matthew Nelson (bass guitar, vocals) and Gunnar Nelson (guitar, vocals) as the group's only members. Gunnar Nelson said the departures were due to lack of touring and that he and Matthew keep in touch with their former band mates and consider them family.
