MMA star Anthony “Thunder” Johnson has died. He was 38.

Bellator MMA, the last advancement Johnson battled in, declared the insight about his demise in a virtual entertainment proclamation on Sunday.

“It is with incredible trouble we recognize the death of Anthony ‘Thunder’ Johnson,” the assertion read.

“The BELLATOR family is crushed by his inopportune passing and we send our sympathies to his loved ones during this troublesome time.” Johnson died because of a consequence of organ disappointment brought about by complexities from non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, an interesting immune system problem, as per Yippee Sports.

In September 2021, just a brief time after his last match in May of that year, Johnson posted a message on Instagram telling fans he had an undisclosed sickness.

“Truly want to meticulously describe how sick I genuinely am,” Johnson composed. “Simply realize I want however many supplications as I can get and I’ll see you in 2022 God willing.

Never been this scared of anything in my life however I’ve major areas of strength for stayed the help of loved ones.” While Johnson would proceed to note in May 2022 that there were “big upgrades” in his wellbeing, he later educated fans through a June Instagram post that he had shed pounds because of his disease.

His chief, Ali Abdelaziz, gave an update to ESPN in October, illuminating fans that Johnson was struggling as he requested petitions for the dearest MMA star.

“He’s major areas of strength for exceptionally, yet petition God for him,” Abdelaziz told the power source.

In his last battle, Johnson crushed Jose Augusto by knockout to end his profession with 23 successes and 6 loses.

Prior to joining Ballator MMA in 2021, Johnson had a 10-year run in the UFC from 2007 to 2017, and contended in two title matches for the UFC light heavyweight title against Daniel Cormier.

Cormier communicated his despondency for the late MMA star in a Twitter post on Sunday.

“For a person who struck dread into such countless people groups heart Anthony Johnson was a mindful individual. From arbitrary text to registrations during misfortune.

What an individual he was, Thunder will be remembered fondly,” he composed. “Now and again life doesn’t appear to be fair. Terrible news.”

UFC president Dana White likewise recollected Johnson after his demise, referring to him as “an extraordinary youngster.” “He was generally for no particular reason battles and he had that one-punch KO power that relatively few individuals at any point had. He was a decent person. I send my sympathies to his family,” he said, per Hurray Sports.
