Sweat and the Philadelphia Eagles reached a three-year, $40 million deal on September 18, 2021. A few months later, he was selected for his first Pro Bowl, taking Nick Bosa’s place who was injured and unable to play.

Sweat underwent emergency surgery to treat a “life-threatening” issue, missing the Eagles’ Wild Card game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a result.

He is a native of Virginia’s Chesapeake. He was on Andrew Brown’s team at Oscar F. Smith High School, where he was enrolled. In ESPN’s final rankings for the class of 2015, he slid to No. 11, but he still received a five-star rating.
