Ireti Kingibe is a Nigerian engineer and politician. He was elected to represent FCT senatorial zone in the National Assembly in 2023. Ireti Kingibe was born on June 2, 1954.

Ireti Kingibe attended Emotan Preparatory School, for her primary education and Queen’s College in Lagos and Washington Irving High School for her secondary education.

She obtained a degree in civil engineering from University of Minnesota.

Career

Ireti Kingibe started her career as a quality control engineer with Bradley Precast Concrete Inc. from 1978 to 1979.

Between 1979 and 1991, Ireti Kingibe worked as an engineer with Minnesota Department of Transportation Design unit.

In 1981, Ireti Kingibe worked as a Project Supervisor with the Directorate of works, Nigerian Air Force base in Ikeja, Lagos.

Ireti Kingibe worked with the New Nigeria Construction Company Kaduna, as a planning engineer, in 1982.

Ireti Kingibe worked as a consultant for Belsam Limited from 1982 to 1985.

Between 1990 to 1994, Kingibe worked as a regional engineer for Lodigiani Nigeria Limited, Lagos.

Ireti Kingibe works as a Senior Partner with Kelnic Associates, Abuja.

In 2022, Ireti Kingibe picked nomination form to run for senate under the platform of the Labour Party.

In February 2023, she defeated the candidate of the PDP and APC to emerge as the Senator representing FCT at the National Assembly.

Personal life

Ireti Kingibe was married to Baba Gana Kingibe, the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation with children. However, they divorced. She is a Muslim from FCT. She is the younger sister to Ajoke Mohammed, the wife of former head of states Murtala Mohammed.
